ULAA website redesign

PROBLEM

ULAA experienced a major technical setback during a server migration, resulting in the loss of access to their active website backup. The only available version was more than seven years old, leaving the organization with an outdated, broken website that no longer supported their needs.

The existing site suffered from poor design, limited functionality, a lack of mobile responsiveness, and heavy dependence on multiple plugins. ULAA needed a complete rebuild that would modernize their digital presence and provide a stable foundation for future growth.

Research & Process

The process began with reviewing ULAA’s goals, organizational structure, and content needs. Similar nonprofit and association websites were studied to understand how leadership, events, and news are presented clearly to diverse audiences.

Special attention was given to usability, content management, and long-term maintenance. The focus was on reducing technical complexity while ensuring the site could be easily updated by administrators. Performance, mobile responsiveness, and scalability were treated as core requirements throughout the process.

RESULT

The website was fully redesigned and rebuilt using WordPress with a custom structure powered by Advanced Custom Fields and Elementor. A flexible hero section was created to allow easy updates without developer support. Custom post types were built for leadership profiles and events, giving ULAA a clear and professional way to manage content.

The new design is modern, responsive, and aligned with ULAA’s identity. Plugin dependency was reduced to improve performance, resulting in faster load times and a smoother user experience.

ULAA now has a modern, reliable website that reflects its legacy and supports its ongoing mission. The platform is easy to manage, performs well across devices, and provides a strong foundation for community engagement and future expansion.
